Featured Video; June 2010
There is a new block on our sidebar under “MaMa Network” for featured videos. This idea came from our co-webmistress Anne. From now on, we will post a video recommended by Anne every month and provide you with her review on the video in our monthly featured video posts. If you would like to recommend videos, please feel free to send a link to us!
Here comes our first featured video, “When You’re Good to Mama”.

Right from the opening, with the drumroll and Catherine walking down the corridor, you know you’re in for something special, and ZsaZsa delivers. She even includes the words “Matron Mama Morton” in the opening, crossing out the word Morton and substituting it with Catherine. Oh yeah!
We get treated to a run through of the “chickies” in Catherine’s pen (Jacqui, Mia, Sofia, Sara) and the looks on Catherine’s face that ZsaZsa has chosen are perfectly suited to each line of the song.
A favorite moment is 0.30 when Catherine just slowly turns around to look at the camera. You know that if you don’t do something she likes, you’re going to be in BIG TROUBLE. Another favourite is definitely from 0.43 when Queen Latifah is singing about the “system of reciprocity” and the clips are of Catherine and Warrick almost kissing, Catherine squeezing Nick’s bicep and Catherine and Grissom sending each other smouldering looks in the interrogation viewing room. Ah, yes, Catherine’s definitely the Queen Bee here. 1.50 with Conrad Ecklie is absolutely priceless – you know he wants her, and Catherine’s just SO GOOD there.
After watching this, you REALLY want to be Good to Catherine.

411mania on Marg’s Contract Status
In the latest TV Rants and Raves by 411mania.com (dated June 2nd 2010), columnist Bryan Kristopowitz did a review on CSI’s season finale and talked a little bit about the cast members’ contracts.
I read that several cast members’ contracts are up and that some of them might not be coming back. Fishburne is coming back, and it sounds like the network and producers are going to do whatever it takes to keep Marg Helgenberger happy, so who do you think can the show do without? Will George Eads be sent packing? Will Jorja Fox’s Sarah be sent back to the jungle or wherever to hang out with Grissom (and when the hell is he coming back for a guest starring bit? November sweeps?). Will Jim Brass get a pink slip?
Is it possible that CBS is tired of the show and that’s why it wants to get a cheaper cast? Can a show like CSI withstand a major cast shake up like removing half of the people on the show?

CBS 2010 Sizzle Reels

“Helgenberger’s Fight For Cancer Awareness Is Far From Over”
Marg did an interview with Nebraska’s local Action News when she was in Omaha for the University Hospital Ausiliary’s charity event for cancer awareness in April. Part of the interview was included in a report about the Hospital’s plan on building a gathering place for cancer patients and survivors last night. In the interview, Marg talks about her mother, who is a breast cancer survivor, and her own work in fighting cancer. Below is a video clip of the report that inclues Marg’s interview.
