  • Why does Marg like Steve Winwood’s Higher Love? Because she and Alan danced to it when they got married.
  • The same can be said of Steely Dan’s Babylon Sisters. She loves the lyrics Drive west on Sunset to the sea because she and Alan did that on their first date.

    Marg was spotted at their show in L.A. at the Wiltern Theatre. She handed out their demo to Julia Roberts and Steven Soderbergh when she was filming Erin Brockovich and asked Soderbergh if he had time to direct the music video for their first single. Unfortunately he didn’t have the time, but here is what Marg had to say about them:

    “They just want to do the music they want to do, and never listen to the record company,” she beams proudly. “They’re anti-image, and they don’t want to do anything that’s part of the Establishment.”

    Marg went to Vegas in March, 2009 and went to a Cher concert. She saw the show with a friend, and she went backstage to talk to her. What did she say?

    I complimented her on the show and said “bravo.” . . . I said to her backstage: “You’re such an inspiration!” And she said: “I don’t know how I got this old!” I didn’t mean it derogatorily. And I said to my friend, “I hope I didn’t offend her.” And my friend said, “I don’t think anything offends Cher.”

    Is it any surprise that Marg is a fan of the material girl? She told In Style in its September 2006 issue: Life will always be good as long as Madonna is around. I don’t think of her as a guilty pleasure anymore—she’s an outright pleasure.
