Who Inspires Marg?

We all know that Marg inspires us…but who are the people that inspire Marg? Let’s take a look.

Hugh and Kay
Two of Marg’s biggest influences have been her parents, Hugh and Kay. As a child, Marg was often insecure about her looks, but it was her father who promised her that she was beautiful. Right until the end, before multiple sclerosis took his life in 1986, he was a huge supporter of Marg, and even went to New York to visit her on the set of Ryan’s Hope.
Marg was in college when her mother found a lump on her breast. Kay is now a 28 year breast cancer survivor, after having a double mastectomy. Marg has said that her mother’s strength is an inspiration.

Mariann VonRein
Mariann VonRein is the one we can all be thankful for—she was the one that headed Marg on the path to stardom! The English teacher recognized Marg’s talent and convinced her to join the speech team. And of course we all know what happened next!
