The 12th season of CSI is currently being aired on the AXN channel in Asia, and Malaysia’s Time Out Kuala Lumpur published a short Q&A session with Marg where she talks about the show and her other works including the Species. She also confirms that she was not in Toosie. (See, told ya!)

After 12 years on ‘CSI’, could you catch a killer in real life?
I’d know what to collect on a crime scene. I’ve been on so many scenes, I don’t think I’d miss anything. I could certainly help with the enquiries.

What was your first powerful piece of TV?
A TV movie called ‘Brian’s Song’ starring James Caan and Billy Dee Williams, about two football players for the Chicago Bears. One gets cancer, and it was about their relationship. Very emotional and powerful – and I’m a football fan.

Have you ever Googled your name?
If I hear something about me or I was at an event and want to check out my outfit, I’ll have a look. There’s some far-fetched stuff that’s good for a chuckle. Like, Wikipedia claims I was in ‘Tootsie’, but it’s just not true. I didn’t even audition for it. Weird.

Tell us about your most memorable audition.
I auditioned for ‘Species’ and the director, Roger Donaldson, was eating pistachio nuts throughout my audition. It was pretty distracting having him cracking the shells because I thought he wasn’t paying attention, but I got the part.

What piece of work are you most proud of?
‘CSI’, of course. The quality’s still so high. And a series I did called ‘China Beach’, which was nicely written and fun to play.

And least proud of?
‘Species II’. Not that I was embarrassed by my work, but at the cast and crew screening I was desperate to escape without seeing the producer or director. I came up with something for them, like, ‘Wow, that was intense!’ [Laughs].

Who do you prefer: William Petersen or Laurence Fishburne?
Billy and I had chemistry. He carries himself a little lighter than Laurence. But Laurence is a very deep guy, as you can see in his roles. I don’t think I ever quite connected with him in the same way. Ted Danson is in our new season (Season 12). He’s a delight.

Marg to Attend the 19th Annual Race to Erase MS Event

May is National Multiple Sclerosis Awareness Month in the U.S., and Marg will attend Nancy Davis Foundation’s annual Race to Erase MS gala event on May 18th as a celebrity champion and award presenter to actress Teri Garr who has MS. Marg to Guest-Judge on “Design Star”
