We made a small change to our sidebar. Now there are buttons that link to our pages on Facebook, Livejournal and twitter plus links to our news feed and email subscription. Find out the most convenient way for you to follow our latest updates without checking up on the main site. :)

So, what is new on the site?

Introducing MargTube…and a surprise

By • Filed in: Media, Site

jul162009It’s here. MargTube powered by Margamania.

MargTube is Margamania’s brand new streaming video archive. There you can watch our videos online and, when logged in, sort your own favorite videos page and enjoy other functions that are available for registered members (although member registration isn’t open at this moment. Even if you you sign up, your account won’t be approved. However, we do plan to open it when we have finished uploading all our current videos to the archive). Anne and I started working on this feature in the beginning of June. We tested it non-stop to find bugs and fix them. We also spent some time getting a decent layout for the page. Now MargTube is ready for you. Although you can download the clips using the download link provided on each video’s page at MargTube, what you download may be of poorer quality and at 320×240 resolution. That’s because the clips have been converted to smaller files that load faster for streaming purpose. But don’t worry, the video archive with zip files on our main site still remains. If you’d like to download the video clips in better quality, you can still get them here. So from now on, every time we post new videos, they are available in zip downloads and at MargTube.

What’s this whole surprise thing about, then?

By • Filed in: Gallery, Media, Site

may102009Happy Mother’s day to Marg and to all the mothers seeing this, whether you celebrate it today or not. :)

Did you know that Catherine’s boyfriend from the first two seasons of CSI, district engineer Paul Newsome and Ted Baker, Rachel’s crush in Always, were played by the same actor? Did you know that the guy played the husband that got murdered by Debbie and John in When Love Kills also played Special Agent Rick Culpepper from the FBI in CSI‘s season 1 finale, Strip Strangler? “Lavender looks good on redheads.”

And back we are, with a shiny new purple/lavender look. As you can see, our search box is back on the navigation bar. Now you can search site updates and pages by submitting keywords in the search field. We also have a new “featured” block on the top-right of the main page, with direct links to the pages that holds most of our visitors’ interest. On the sidebar there is a new block called “network” which provides links to our pages on other social network sites—Marg’s fan page on Facebook (which I co-admin with Gravey), Margamania @ LJ (our LiveJournal community), Margamania @ Twitter (which you are welcome to follow if you use Twitter. Thanks to Leah for the idea) and our RSS feed. I am still going through each page to see if there are any errors and trying to re-organize the update categories and tags, but I think over 95% of the site is working just fine. I hope you like this spring-ish look of the site. If you encounter any problems, please feel free to report them by posting a comment. :)

If you think that’s it, you are wrong. ;) Our gallery is also updated with shiny new photos:

» Marg shopping in Brentwood (6 pics » March 22, 2009)
» Jim Wright photoshoot (11 pics » for the October 6, 2008 issue of TV Guide)

And here is a new interview with Marg by the Los Angeles Times. Enjoy!

A declaration from Margamania

By • Filed in: Site

I spent a while trying to come up with a nice way to start this post, but it wasn’t easy so I decided to just get straight to the point.

Some of you may already know that there is a blog where the owner posts photos of Marg and criticizes her look. This morning I was informed that someone had posted comments on that blog claiming that he/she was one of the Margamania maintainers and that all the Margamania people were “in league” to hunt down the owner of said blog and to figure out his/her real identity.

I have no idea if those comments really exist. I didn’t bother going there and checking at all. Regardless of whether the comment thing is true, though, we declare that Margamiana is not involved in anything like that. We are too busy on Margamania to go to any anti-Marg website and honestly, we couldn’t care less for such places. We also don’t care if you are eager to get involved in fandom wars, but please, DO NOT SPEAK ON OUR BEHALF no matter what your intention is. Also, if you see anyone claim to represent Margamania while leaving any improper comment on any website, it’s not us.

Thanks for your time.
