Where Will CSI Be In Fall 2010?

By • Filed in: News

In the latest issue of Entertainment Weekly (dated May 21, 2010), there is an article titled “The Networks Juggle Time Slots For the Fall” that talks about possible time slot changes of current primetime shows in the new fall season, and CSI is one of the shows that will likely get moved to a new time slot according to the article.

CBS could move the once-dominant CSI out of its Thursday berth to make way for The Mentalist (the network tested a switcheroo earlier this season) or a new drama like Hawaii Five-O. A tropical-based series as a lead-out for Survivor? Not a bad play.

Anything about the CSI finale that doesn’t involve Dr. Jekyll? — Beverly

ADAM: Make no mistake: Dr. Jekyll is the main attraction. But fans who enjoy seeing Catherine and Detective Vartan together will get another taste of the pairing in the season’s final episode. Marg Helgenberger tells us, however, not to assume there will be a big romantic scene. “It’s like we usually do with physical relationships on the show — it’s all very subtle,” she says. “But it definitely leads to a continuing relationship. Things are going really well.”

Will Marg Leave CSI?

By • Filed in: Career, News

AOL TV Squad’s Gabrielle Dunn took fans’ question suggestions and interviewed Marg today. She has just posted a teaser regarding Marg’s contact status and said that the full interview will be up on Monday. Here’s what the teaser says:

Will Marg Helgenberger Leave ‘CSI’?
Posted Apr 30th 2010 4:40PM by Gabrielle Dunn

Marg Helgenberger, the actress who plays forensic scientist Catherine Willows on ‘CSI’, told TV Squad today that her contract on the show is up after 10 years and that she hasn’t yet been asked back for next season.

“My contract is up actually,” Helgenberger said, when asked if she would be returning for ‘CSI’s’ 11th season. “That’s a good question. I haven’t been asked back, so we’ll see.”

Helgenberger’s character was recently promoted to supervisor after the departure of her long-time partner, Gil Grissom (William Peterson). She has been with the show since it’s debut in 2000.

There have been a few notable cast departures recently on ‘CSI’ — among them, Peterson, who left last season to pursue more stage roles, and Jorja Fox, who left the show only to return in a recurring capacity this season. Helgenberger faces frequent rumors that she is leaving the show, though last year’s contract renewal wasn’t announced until mid-May.

Check TV Squad next week for the full Marg Helgenberger interview.
