Marg Getting Awarded Is Not A Crime

By • Filed in: News

The Italian Telefilm magazine has a short article about Marg on its website, dated July 10, 2010. It tells the readers about Marg getting awarded at the Roma Fiction Fest and her return to CSI’s 11th season. Marg also tells the magazine about the TV shows she watches in the article. You can find the original article in Italian over here. Below is an English version translated by Margamania’s Anne.

Marg Helgenberger Gets Awarded

July 10, 2010

The star of CSI receives the RomaFictionFest Excellence Award which is not a crime to the viewers.

Marg Helgenberger — aka Catherine Willows of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation — will be honored tonight, July 10, during the closing ceremony of the fourth edition of RomaFictionFest. She will in fact be given the Excellence Award along with Andy Garcia, just a few days after news of the renewal of her contract in the Las Vegas science show. Her secret love in television, however, is no mystery: “I have a weakness for comedy,” she revealed exclusively to TFM, “and when I get home I can not do without it. It helps me remove the tension and drama of the day on the set, still struggling with terrible tragedies and circumstances. I like watching series like Modern Family or Glee or Entourage, only shows with light themes and without commitment.”

Ausiello Confirms Marg’s Return On CSI

By • Filed in: News

Marg already revealed it in her recent Heart of Hollywood interview, but it’s still nice to see the news in a report. Michael Ausiello from Entertainment Weekly has just confirmed Marg’s new CSI deal and said that other cast members including Jorja Fox are still negotiating their contracts while Liz Vassey won’t be back.

‘CSI’ Exclusive: Marg Helgenberger Is Staying!

by Michael Ausiello

Catherine Willows won’t be leaving Las Vegas anytime soon.

Sources confirm to me exclusively that Marg Helgenberger has inked a new contract with CSI.

With Helgenberger’s deal done, the spotlight shifts to fellow CSI vets George Eads (Nick), Eric Szmanda (Greg), and Paul Guilfoyle (Jim), all of whom are negotiating new deals ahead of the show’s 11th season. Jorja Fox is also in talks to return in some capacity.

Liz Vassey, meanwhile, will not be back.

EDIT: Ausiello also confirmed that Eric Szmanda has signed a new CSI contract, too.
