CSI Season Ender – Life-or-Death Contract Situation for Catherine

March 28, 2010 at 1:50 am

Marg Helgenberger’s one of the original stars of the original CSI series.

But there’s good reason to question whether she’ll rejoin the investigative gang in the fall.

A reliable source tells Rumor Rat that the season-ending show – scheduled to air in May – seems to leave the future of Marg’s character Catherine Willows up in the air.

The Rat’s source says Marg’s final scene in the final episode of the current season involves a lot of bloodshed for Catherine.

We’re told her current CSI contract is about to expire.

The article a few posts down that was translated said that Marg mentioned leaving after Season 11 and 2011 was mentioned, which would coincide with Season 11…was that a misinterpration?

I guess it's Catherine's time to end a season in a life or death situation, huh? We've had Nick (though his was resolved at the same time), Sara and Warrick. Should be for some good drama.

I think it's possible that Marg was just stating what she would like to do back when she was interviewed, but it certainly gets much more complicated than just saying stuff like that when it comes to a real discussion on renewing the contract. I think CBS will have to give her a heck of a raise to make her stay, but personally I'm not sure they're willing to do that considering how they have treated the cast members of this show in the past.

Anyway, I wouldn't mind if she leaves the show. She's been there for 10 years. It's about dang time that she leaves and does something else. I just don't want her character to get killed off, or anyone close to Catherine. She's definitely the last character on the show that needs that kind of treatment…

as much is this makes me upset I understand if she wants leave

No matter what her decision is, if she's happy, then the fans can at least try to be happy for her. :)

I wouldnt blame Marg if she left the show. Im a HUGE Marg fan and as much as I love Catherine Willows.. Ive kinda been waiting for this. The show lost its spark a few years back.. it just hasnt been the same. I vowed to continue watching as long as Catherine was around. Granted, the last couple of years I havent been as loyal and die-hard as I used to be..

If she left the CSI it would be a huge pity and i would be very sad. But OK, maybe she would like to do something else after 10 years. But, please no blood and no death! I could not see a staff like that!!!!
