Marg Would Much Rather Have the Fans Than the Awards

We have three new CSI-related video in the video vault. The first one contains comments on the much talked-about opening scene of Season 10 from the cast members and the producers. The second one has behind-the-scenes footages of scenes from the Season 10 episodes Family Affair, Appendicitement and Better Off Dead. The last video has bits of an interview with Marg. Even if you don’t care for the technical stuff, you still will love the interview.

When asked about doing the opening scene, Marg said her part was rather easy compared with the other cast members’. She just had to freeze her expression, but It took a few tries to figure out what kind of expression they wanted. “And [it] seemed like the wider my mouth was, the more they liked it. It was cool. It was amazing how it turned out.” Commenting on the success of CSI, she said that she felt fortunate and that she thought she’d “hit the jackpot at the right time.” Between the fans and the awards, Marg would, without a doubt, pick the fans. “I’d much rather have the fans. Much rather. And I think most people would,” she said. “Awards are certainly nice to receive, and it’s nice to be acknowledged by your peers, but in the end, it’s always about the fans.” She also talked about playing Catherine for ten years. “It’s magical. I still get a big kick out of it. I don’t really foresee that my enthusiasm really weaning…”

Marg also talked about the show’s impact and inspiration to television and to people, especially young people, about show runner Carol Mendelsohn’s effort and other topics. She described her costar Jorja Fox, who returned to the show after a two-year leave as a “cool chick. Exceptionally cool.”
