China Beach, One of the Best ’80s TV Shows
We are late for reporting this, but better late than never… Kim Potts of AOL Television posted a list of the Best ’80s TV Shows in April 2009. China Beach, the series Marg won an Emmy for, ranked 17 among the 40 shows on the list. Here is what the author said about the show:
17. ‘China Beach’
(1988-91)
At last, recognition for the sacrifices women made during the Vietnam War. Emmy winner Dana Delany led the way as Capt. Colleen McMurphy, a kind, optimistic nurse who was forever changed by her heartbreaking interactions with wounded soldiers. ‘CSI’ vet Marg Helgenberger had a breakout role as K.C., the hooker with a heart. The gritty series never backed away from the realities of war, even flashing forward to how the characters coped decades later in the series finale.
