Marg Can Never Really Relax
Orbit Showtime, a pay TV service in Middle East and North Africa has had an interview with Marg earlier this year. In the interview, Marg talked about staying grounded, maintaining a young look and mostly, CSI. When asked if she ever finds time to relax, she said, and we quote, “I can never really relax! I can’t let the ball drop for very long, because otherwise it all passes you by. And I enjoy life too much for that.” That’s our girl!
Here’s a sneak peek of the interview:
SHOWTIME: You’re starring in the most watched TV show in the world, how do you stay grounded?
MARG HELGENBERGER: There’s an old saying that the job of good parents is to give their children roots and wings—values to keep them grounded and the courage to follow their own dreams. I feel blessed because my mum and dad gave me both strong roots and strong wings. I’m very grateful for the success I’ve had. Success can either go to your head or totally humble you. Gratitude keeps everything in perspective.
SHOWTIME: What do think about CSI’s real life impact?
MARG HELGENBERGER: I knew it was going to be a big hit, I felt that, especially when I saw it cut together, but I would have never guessed that we would have had two spin-offs in four years and would have really created a whole new genre of television. It seems like every network now has a monopoly of forensic shows. People say to me that imitation’s the best form of flattery and at this point it’s like “No it’s not, now you’re just ripping us off!” Come up with your own ideas here!
