Margamania Birthday Project 2008

So. Marg is turning 50 on November 16, 2008. How would you like to celebrate her big 5-0? How about joining fans all over the world and taking part in Margamania’s birthday project for 2008? It’s easy, it doesn’t cost you a penny, and you don’t need to be a fanart- or a fanvid genius to participate. Sounds pretty nice, doesn’t it? Let’s get to the details. ;)

What: Margamania Birthday Project 2008

Why: To celebrate Marg’s 50th birthday and to show her love and support from fans all over the world.

Who: Marg fans, of course

How: We are going to make a Marg photo mosaic with pictures submitted by fans and mail it to Marg.

When: Until October 15, 2008

What we need you to do: Send in your pictures. Duh!

Instruction:
1. You can send up to three pictures. They can be pictures of you or your Marg stuff, or you and your Marg stuff. Well, anything related to you or Marg. (Note to Walter: I think you need to send us a picture of your “MARG FAN” plate. Teehee.)

2. The dimension of the pictures must be 480×360 pixels in minimum. Any picture smaller than that won’t be accepted. The resolution of the pictures must be 150 dpi or higher. The file size of each picture must be 200-800 KB. Most photos taken with digital cameras are fine. You probably just need to do some resizing. However, if you are trying to scan a photo, make sure you have the right settings.

3. E-mail your pictures to project2008@margamania.net with your name/nickname and location. Submission will be closed after October 15.

4. We will start a poll to let our visitors vote for the one Marg photo that’s going to be the main image of the mosaic in mid-August. Then we will use the pictures you send us to make a mosaic of the photo that wins the poll. (Click here for a sample mosaic.)

5. We will try to post the digital file of the photo mosaic after it’s finished if possible.

Other: The website admins will pay for the project (about 200 USD in total, including shipping), but your help will be much appreciated. If you would like to support us with financial help, please either click on the PayPal Donate button on the bottom of the sidebar, or go to PayPal and send your donation to erica@margamania.net. We are grateful for your generosity even if it’s just $1. Please note: we can’t guarantee you that Marg will definitely get the present or that we will get a response from her if she does get it (hey, we all know she is busy. She is the queen of prime-time TV now, and the first lady of SAG after all), but we think trying is always better than doing nothing. We also hope that by running such campaigns, fans can unite and have fun together. :)
